Jessica Harper interprets some classic
works of art in her latest children's recording, Hey,
Picasso. A pleasing range of musical styles, including,
jazz, pop, reggae, and folk, are featured on this likable
album, as well as Jessica's silky-smooth voice.
The songs
on Hey, Picasso are lively and fun, including plenty
of "musical conversations" between Jessica and
children that young listeners fully enjoy. Although each
track holds its own unique appeal, one of our favorites is
"Stay Three"a song that is sure to bring a
smile to parents' faces. We all say that childhood passes
too quickly, and this song explores the desire to freeze
time. "This Starry Night" is a good
example of the recording's dedication to art appreciation,
featuring Jessica's personal interpretation of Van Gogh's
classic work, "Starry Night".
Hey,
Picasso is at once sophisticated and kid-friendly.
