There
are not too many edutainment software titles that are devoted to
teaching kids, ages 7-10, general science concepts. This one makes
a good choice.
Children
enter any of 3 learning areas, each of which is hosted by an
animated character and is devoted to a broad science topic --
Energy and Forces, Life, and Matter. Children select 3 activities
to play, and engage in such things as sorting games, testing of
theories, and answering quizzes on what they have learned. Chances
to read up on various topics are available. This
title combines arcade games, quizzes, and experiments in order to
get science concepts across to kids. The character guides are
characters indeed--they encourage and prod with humorous
lingo. The game requires children to do some reading and
research, so it is best for kids who can handle some basic
reading.
Pros:
- A wide range of early
science topics in biology, physics, and chemistry are
explored
- Rather engaging
|
Cons:
- Arcade games might be
difficult for some kids.
