This
lively video, starring puppets and people, is fresh,
original, and highly entertaining. Filled with upbeat
musical numbers, and featuring The Who's Roger Daltrey, The
Wheels on the Bus Video is destined to please children and
their parents.
Mango the
monkey and Papaya the parrot are looking for their home.
They hop on the bus, with Argon the Dragon (voiced by
Daltrey) at the wheel, and join a lively cast of characters (both human
and puppet) on a wonderful romp to exciting
destinations.
Of
course, the beloved song The Wheels on the Bus
provides the musical framework for the video, with plenty of
interludes along the way. Children are introduced to a
mother and baby, a clown on his way to a party, a cow who is
riding the bus to get to the farm, a construction worker,
and more. After all, "everybody's got something they've
got to do"... except Mango and Papaya who have
forgotten where they live. The puppet pair get off at
various fun stops, such as the aquarium, the farm, and the
zoo, looking for the place they call home.
At the
aquarium, viewers are treated to live-action video of
sharks, sea turtles, stingrays, jellyfish, tropical fish,
and the like. At the gas station, a song entitled "Fill
it Up!" extends the concept of filling up for gas to
the need to fill ourselves up with food and drink.
This segment features vibrant visuals.
A
wonderful bonus movie on the DVD reveals the extraordinary
work that went into making the movie. This fabulous bonus is
narrated by the little girl star of the video, Janie Laurel
Escalle,
who was a natural in her role in the video.
This
video/DVD is surprisingly fun, with lively, catchy music and
a cheerful mood. Very recommended!
