Top
Pick. Fitness
and nutrition are the focus of this creative and effective
Sesame Street video and DVD. Happy Healthy Monsters
is part of Sesame Workshop's "Healthy Habits for
Life" campaign. Seven new Sesame Street songs are
featured, two of which are brand new while the other five
are new renditions of old favorites.
Grover
hosts the exercise show, "Fuzzy, Blue and Healthy,
Too", as Elmo, Zoe, and friends follow along. Grover is
as silly as ever, expecting a cow to jump, calling a
kangaroo a pouch-aroo, and so on. After all of that jumping
and moving about, Grover has worked up an appetite. Cookie
Monster, of all monsters, demonstrates the importance of a
balanced diethe's the healthy food specialist. He doesn't just eat cookies all day
long!
Celebrity
guests include Andy Richter, Fred Willard, Wyclef Jean,
India.Arie, and Dan Zanes. Wonderful health-themed Sesame
Street vignettes are found throughout, including vignettes
about fruits, milk, and "couch potatoes". Grover
even does a yoga-like workout in which he tells viewers that
they are exercising their brains and stretching their
imaginations.
The DVD
edition includes several bonus features, including a Chef
Cookie game and bonus Sesame Street shorts. For a limited
time, the DVD comes with a Sesame Street growth chart with a
push-button special message from Elmo.
We
love the "Healthy Habits for Life"
initiativekids trust Sesame Street characters, and their
promotion of exercise and healthy foods will certainly have an impact
on little viewers. This video/DVD promotes a positive
