Disney
Princess Jewelry Box Collection includes three previously released
CD-ROMs inside a pretty, pink jewelry box. The computer games are:
Both
the Fashion Boutique and Magical Dress-Up CD-ROMs focus on
dressing up and simple creativity projects. In Fashion Boutique,
parents can add a real photo of their child's face that can be
placed on a 3D model of a princess, and then dressed up. Kids
follow three Disney Princesses (Cinderella, Snow White, and
Sleeping Beauty) to different "enchanted worlds" where
they collect new designs and other surprises.
In
Magical Dress-Up, kids follow three other princesses (Ariel,
Belle, and Jasmine). This game plays similarly to Fashion
Boutique, although it is a little better. Kids follow clues, for
example, to find surprises in the three Princess worlds.
Ariel's
Story Studio is the most educationally valuable of the trio. It's
an older title, but it still has some merit. Children work through
the electronic storybook, hearing the story read aloud and
watching as the phrases are highlighted. Some of the words include
synonyms to boost vocabulary. The story pages hold clickable
surprises as well as hotspots that lead to games, such as the
music-making activity pictured here.
The jewelry box is a cute one
with a little oval mirror inside, holding the CD-ROMs for now, and
perhaps jewelry or other collectibles later.
